The Mental Toolbox

"The only person with the right tools to control your mindset is you."

Life is apparently 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.

That's why it's important to occasionally open up your mental toolbox, to check whether the intricate wiring is still intact, tighten a few loose screws, and clear your mind of the toxins you've unknowingly accumulated.

We all need to pause once in a while. Step back. Breathe. Unlearn. Re-evaluate. Then move forward again.

Sometimes we hold on to an opinion so tightly that we become blind to the facts surrounding it. We absorb so much from the world around us: people's opinions, expectations, fears, comparisons, and keep stacking it all in our minds until every situation begins to feel more complicated than it really is. We overthink, overanalyse and, eventually, overreact.

The truth, however, is that the simpler your outlook on life becomes, the easier it is to deal with whatever comes your way. Clarity often replaces confusion the moment you stop assuming the worst.

And, in most cases, there was never really a problem to begin with.

It was all in your head.
